THE Group stage of the 2023 AFCON taking place in Ivory Coast, has been concluded with 16 teams making it to the knockout out stage known as the Round of 16.
Six teams who finished top of the table, six teams who finished as runner-ups, and four teams who finished as best thirds make up the Round of 16 draw.
Equatorial Guinea, Cape Verde, Senegal, Angola, Morocco, and Mali finished their groups top of the table, while Nigeria, Egypt, Cameroon, DR Congo, Burkina Faso, and South Africa are runner-ups in their respective groups. Host nation Ivory Coast, Guinea, Mauritania, and Namibia qualified as best third.
The fixtures of the Round of 16 are as follows: Algeria vs Namibia, Nigeria vs Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea vs Guinea, Egypt vs DR Congo, Cape Verde vs Mauritania, Senegal vs Ivory Coast, Mali vs Burkina Faso, Morocco vs South Africa.
The fixtures will run from Saturday, January 27, 2023, till January 30, 2023.
