REPORTED COVID-19 cases in Nigeria have relatively decreased, according to the latest update from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as at midnight today.
Reported cases of coronavirus infections have taken 4.5 steps down graphically this week compared to last week in ratio 1,494:3159.

Following this positive development, The epicentre of most reported cases, Lagos, has decided to reopen tertiary institutions on September 14, while primary and secondary schools will re-open September 21, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said.

As regards social clubs and recreational centres with trustees, Sanwo-Olu has permitted them to open as long as they meet all the protocols for reopening while restaurants are now permitted to have in-dining in line with all safety rules and guidelines.
"We remain sympathetic to the plight of business owners, especially those operating in the hospitality and tourism sector. We are reviewing permissible opening dates and we assure you that concrete decisions will be taken before the end of September," he noted.
Sanwo-Olu added in his closing remarks: "The gradual easing doesn't mean the pandemic is over. It is not an invitation to carelessness or nonchalance.
The goal is to stay healthy and remain safe."
