THE outbreak of coronavirus has had adverse effects on businesses, traders at Mosan Okunola Local Community Development Area (LCDA) have lamented.

Ever since the first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Nigeria on February 27, a new phase of life was opened for Nigerians.

On the heels of the pandemic, which started in Wuhan, China, came the closure of schools and the lockdown of some states and countries.

The pandemic has also increased uncertainty over jobs, health and even finances.

AlimoshoToday visited some business owners in Alimosho who lamented that COVID-19 has really affected their businesses.

Blessing Emmanuel, a market woman who spoke with AlimoshoToday on the impact of COVID-19 on sales, lamented that sales have reduced. "I sell skin care products and the way we sell before, this Covid-19 has spoiled everything for us. The way we sell before, we do not sell up to that now.

"Before, when we record low sales, we still make more than N100, 000, but now, we don't sell up to N10, 000.

"Everything is scattered."

Another market woman, Alhaja Bintinlaye, lamented that " Covid-19 has hindered sales.

"People are now really buying on credit.

"They don't have money, there is nothing. There is even no food."

A Hausa pepper seller, who pleaded anonymity, said: "I thank God, my market is moving, but it is not like before.

"Before, I make huge sales, but now, sales are limited."
