ABESAN Estate in the Baruwa/Gate area of Ipaja in the Alimosho area of Lagos State witnessed chaos and confusion as a commercial motorcyclist was reported to have allegedly murdered a man after a fight broke out between both of them in the early hours of Monday, April 4, 2022.
According to reports gathered by AlimoshoToday, the bike man allegedly had a disagreement with his pregnant passenger who slapped him and he retaliated by supposedly punching the pregnant woman.
The ticketer for the area, simply identified as Inawo, intervened in the matter and was stabbed to death by the motorcyclist.
Meanwhile, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State command in a statement said law and order has been restored to the area.
“Our officers responded to the violent fights that broke out in the Baruwa/Gate area of Ipaja this morning. Calm has been restored to the area. One person was confirmed dead.
“The killer and other suspects have been arrested while an intensive patrol of the area is going on. Lagosians are urged to go about their lawful duties, especially in the axis as their safety and security are being made a top priority,” the statement reads.
Similarly, the Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect has been arrested while investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the clash.
