NIGERIA@63: Shobowale celebrates with Ayobo-Ipaja residents, Nigerians

THE Executive Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area, Hon. Chief (Mrs) Bola Shobowale, on behalf of the good and patriotic people of the council area, has felicitated the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and all Nigerians at home and in the diaspora on the occasion of the nation’s 63rd Independence Day anniversary.

Her celebratory note on Sunday, October 1, 2023, read: “For the past six decades, Nigeria has constantly celebrated 1st October of every year to commemorate our nation's independence.  Today (yesterday) affords us another opportunity as a people to retrospect, review, and look forward as we continue to build a renewed hope for our nation.

“The time is ripe for us to show that we are a great people from a great nation and this can only be achieved through our collective engagement in positive endeavours and attitudinal change to our country’s value system.

“As we celebrate our nation's Independence, let’s remember our leaders who gave their lives in the battle for the freedom we are enjoying.  Also, think about what we can do to sustain the gains and protect this heritage for the generations yet unborn. 44302b6c-1608-423d-a4fe-1d8782b804b2

“We must put extra effort into performing our civic responsibility. Our diversity in tribes, languages and cultures should not be seen as a weakness, but rather as our greatest strength.  Let us be mindful of everything we can do for our nation to make it a place of wealth, peace, and happiness.  As we remember our national heroes today, let’s renew our pledge to always live together in peace and harmony in our communities.

“Finally, my dear good, peace-loving and progress-minded people of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, as we join other LGAs/LCDAs and States to celebrate Nigeria at 63, I heartily wish us all peace and harmony, love and unity, strength and power.”
