Great Platinum Schools, Ipaja holds 3rd biennial inter-house sports competition

Emerald House emerged the winner of this year’s inter-house sports competition, Sapphire House emerged the second winner, Topaz House came third, and Platinum House came fourth.

GREAT Platinum Schools located at Road 12, Peace Estate Baruwa in the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA of Alimosho LGA, Lagos, has held the third edition of its biennial inter-house sports competition.

The event, which was held at Anglican Comprehensive High School, Ipaja, on Thursday, April 4, 2024, and anchored by Tayo Adeyemo, Bolaji, and Muyiwa (Wonderland Crew), featured track and field events, including students, staff, and parents March Past, Relay Races, Catching the Bus, Slipper Race, Chess, Scrabble, Ludo, and so on.

While giving his speech at the event, the Chairman of the Day, Mr Bashiru Alani Adesina, stated that although education is important, sports build up children’s relationships with others.  It also helps them grow and face life challenges. 9171

The houses involved in the inter-house sports competition Red House- Platinum House (Fediza Water House), Green House- Emerald House (Ayodele House), Yellow House - Topaz House (Isaac Zinzu House), and Blue House- Sapphire House(Mathias Onechojon House).

The four houses kicked off the event with a colourful parade, with the house queens and kings saluting the dignitaries present at the event.

Also, the event featured a baton exchange relay race for invited schools, including Faith Academy, Prime Focus International School, and Fluorescent Academy, with Prime Focus International School coming first, Fluorescent Academy, second, and Faith Academy, third. Similarly, the event also featured a sports quiz segment for parents with winners winning recharge card gifts.

Meanwhile, some guests and parents that partook in the medals presentation include Fediza Water, Pastor Joshua Sinzu, Mr Ayodele, Mr Mathias Onechojon, Ms Debby Sinzu, Chairman of the School’s Governing Council, Mr Timothy Ojeleye, Proprietress of the School, Mrs Victoria Ojeleye, Mrs Akande, Mrs Olorunshomo, Mrs Adeniji, and so on.

 At the end of the event, Sapphire House emerged as the winner of the march past, while Emerald House came second, Topaz House came third, and Platinum House came fourth.

Overall, Emerald House emerged the winner of this year’s inter-house sports competition, Sapphire House emerged the second winner, Topaz House came third, and Platinum House came fourth. 

The event was supported by Mr Fruts, Golden Penny Foods, and Mubo’s Cuisine.
