Ayobo-Ipaja council Boss congratulates Sanwo-Olu, Hamzat on Supreme Court victory

The Chairman said the judgment had finally settled the legal battle over the 2023 general elections.

THE Executive Chairman of the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Hon. Chief (Mrs) Bola Shobowale, has described the judgment of the Supreme Court that affirmed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's victory as a “sound one” that would further deepen the country’s electoral laws and judicial jurisprudence.

In a statement by her Chief Press Secretary, Rasaq Jimoh, the Chairman said the judgment had finally settled the legal battle over the 2023 general elections, saying lovers of democracy must commend the resilience of the judiciary in deepening the country’s democracy through its sound judgments.

It read:  "On behalf of the good people of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, the management, legislators, staff, and the APC family, I congratulate and rejoice with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, on their victory as the duly elected Governor and Deputy Governor of the “Centre of Excellence” at the Supreme Court.

“Today’s (Friday) judgment has put to an end the needless bickering, distractions and litigation that greeted the 2023 election. It is my hope that the opposition will team up with our Governor (Mr Sellable) to move our dear State forward in the overall interest of the State.”
