FOLLOWING the festive season celebration, the Executive Chairman of the Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya has doled out cash gifts to about 100 widows and Senior Citizens within the council area as an end-of-the-year empowerment package.
The empowerment, which was sponsored by the office of the Council's Chairperson, Alhaja Tomori Akinsanya, titled "The Year 2023 Cash Welfare Package for Widows and Senior Citizens," was held at the council secretariat on Friday.
While delivering her speech during the cash presentation, Alhaja Tomori Akinsanya reiterated the Executive Chairman’s commitment to aged and widows welfare. She promised that the Year 2024 empowerment package would cut across over one million residents of the council area.
The empowerment included beneficiaries across the seven political wards that made up the LCDA.
Present during the presentation was the Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Hon. (Mrs) Aina Macaulay, Head of Department, WAPA, Mrs Kehinde Adesanya, and the All Progressives Congress, APC Igando-Ikotun Women President, Mrs Hawa Akintola, among others.
