Sanwo-Olu commissions 270 home units for Egan-Igando residents

THE Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commissioned 270 housing units for residents of the Ikotun-Igando LCDA under the Alimosho Constituency 02.

A project facilitated through Hon. Kehinde Joseph (Representative of Alimosho Constituency 02) with strong support of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Hon. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya (Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA), Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai (the Commissioner for Housing in Lagos), the 270 home units were designed to bring relief to the residents of the Alimosho Constituency 02. 

Speaking during the commissioning of the project on Thursday, June 6, 2024, Governor Sanwo-Olu appreciated the determination of Hon. Kehinde Joseph and Hon. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya and the support of the residents of Alimosho Constituency 02 towards ensuring that the 270 housing units were completed within the specified time frame. 

He, however, charged Akinsanya and everyone who is saddled with the responsibility of providing leadership within the Alimosho Constituency 02 to not relent in bringing hope and alleviating the pains of the people.

On his part, the Chairman of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Hon. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya chronicled the different challenges experienced, especially in the area of funding before the project could be completed and delivered. He appreciated the support the housing project received from representatives in the Lagos House of Assembly, the Commissioner for Housing and residents of Ikotun-Igando LCDA who ensured that the project became a reality. 

“Though there were many challenges when we embarked on this project in which finance formed a major part of it, with the determination and support of Hon. Kehinde Joseph and Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, we were able to overcome every stumbling block we encountered in other to ensure we deliver quality housing to Ikotun-Igando LCDA residents,” he said,

He further maintained that more housing units will also be delivered after the 270 home units of Cluster 1.  

Also present at the commissioning was the Deputy Governor of Lagos, Dr Femi Hamzat;  different Obas, CDC/ CDA leaders, APC leaders in the Alimosho Constituency 02, and other top government functionaries.
