Non-yoruba voters stopped from accessing polling units in Igando

A Facebook user, Faith Mary has given an account of what she experienced when she went to cast her votes in the early hours of today, March 18, 2023.

According to her, those stationed at the polling units refused non-Yorubas from voting. She also said that she was told to vote for a particular candidate or return home.

She said, "This is how some Yoruba groups gather at the gate to polling units 002, 003, 004, 005, and 006 Angelica primary school Egan/Igando Alimosho. You must be Yoruba before you are allowed to enter.

"The threat is real. I walked to my polling unit 002 only for the Yoruba group to meet me asking if I came to vote. That if yes, I must vote for their choice, Babajide Sanwo-Olu or I leave, that someone will be assigned to me to be sure I will vote for their candidate."

A seeming situation room was set up by one Charles Awuzie, and different voters have been in the comment section, giving different accounts from their polling units across the state.
