The centre, which is the third in Lagos State and 30th in the country, has been equipped with facilities and personnel to help victims of sexual abuse and violence with services such as counselling and psychological support, medical tests for sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy, drugs and contraceptives, as well as sensitisation and awareness.
The First Lady appreciates the development partners - the British Council’s Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Centre (RoLAC), the European Union and other stakeholders for the support that gave rise to the establishment of the centre.
She also stated that it is hoped that the centre will not only greatly help in caring for victims of the heinous crimes of rape and sexual violence, but also accentuate awareness on the topic to people.
