Jilted lover fights dirty at Igando, after catching partner with another lady

THE secret romance between a single lady, Titilayo Samuel and her driver, Nzekwe Ugochukwu, got exposed as they fought dirty after she caught him with another lady having gifted him #800,000 in the one month she employed him in Lagos State.

According to media reports, the incident happened at Ogunojule Street, Agric Road, Egan in the Igando area of Lagos, where Titilayo resides.

Titilayo, who reportedly employed Ugochukwu in September 2022, gave him the money so that he will settle down, and concentrate on her and his work as her driver.

However, trouble was said to have started after Titilayo paid him a surprise visit in October 2022 and to her surprise, she met another lady in the driver’s house, which angered her. She immediately asked Ugochukwu to refund her all the money. But the driver, who was due to receive his first salary by the end of October 2022, had no money to give her back.

She consequently went to the Igando Police Division and reported that the driver duped and stole her money. He was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the conduct.

At the Police Station, Titilayo told the Police that Ugochukwu, obtained the money from her after she employed him as her driver under the false pretence that he had a case at Ogba Magistrates Court, which he had wanted to resolve and she parted with the money so that he would face his work as her driver.

She told the Police that the driver has not worked for up to one month before he started misbehaving, but she did not state, before the Police, the mode of misbehaviour.

On the part of the driver, he admitted that she gave him some money as a gift after she employed him as a driver but that it was not up to the amount she had claimed. The Police found him culpable and asked him to refund her money but he explained to the Police that he had no money to refund because she had just employed him and he has not received his first salary from her.

He was subsequently charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for the alleged fraud and stealing, wherein he pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for the hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

Presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.K. Dosumu, asked Titilayo if they had an intimate relationship for her to have given him such money within one month after she employed him as a driver, but she denied it.

The Court granted him bail in the sum of #200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood.

The matter was subsequently adjourned, while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
