Igando, Obadore, other Alimosho areas to experience blackout, as IKEDC commences panel replacement

IKEJA Electric, the electricity distribution company serving some parts of Lagos State has announced that some areas in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State will experience darkness and blackout for a period of 10 consecutive days.

According to reports reaching Alimoshotoday, the blackout will affect areas in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA and is scheduled to start from Tuesday, September 6, 2022, to Monday, September 15, 2022.

A statement from the Ikeja Disco on Sunday, September 4, 2022, reiterated that the company would be replacing old panels at its Igando Injection Substation. According to the company, the replacement of the panels is geared toward improving the quality and quantity of power being supplied to the areas that will be affected in the local government area.

The statement from the Disco reads: "As part of our efforts at improving the quality and quantity of power supply, we have decided to replace old panels at our Igando Injection Substation”.

“This exercise will last for ten (10) days, from Tuesday, 6th to Monday, 15th September 2022.

"Feeders affected are General Hospital, Obadore, Egan, Akesan, Igando-Ikotun, Agric Road, and New Igando.

“We appeal for your understanding during this period. Thank you for allowing us to serve you.”
