IGANDO-IKOTUN NULGE organise marketplace for council staff

THE Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area has been commended for organising a marketplace for the council staff and other residents of the council to purchase a variety of items at a subsidised price at the council Secretariat.

The Council-Manager, Mrs Mojisola Gbajabiamila, made the commendation on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, when she declared the market open and also purchased some of the items.

Gbajabiamila said the initiative by the Union Executives was brilliant, promising that the council would support the Union for the subsequent marketplace.

The Union branch Chairman, who also doubles as the State NULGE Chairman of Conference 58 Branch Chairmen (CofC), Shina Arowosafe, appreciated the Executive Chairman, Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya for his mentorship, the Council-Manager, Executive Committee, and management team who visited the mart, noting that the initiative was to ensure that the council staff and other residents buy foodstuff at very low prices during this festive period.

The marketplace, according to Arowosafe, will be a continuous exercise, and Muslim faithful are encouraged to patronize the mart for their Sallah celebration food items on April 8, 2024.
