THE councillor representing Aberanje/Okerube in Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Honourable Sherifat Oyinkansola Idowu, has launched an NGO that would see to the upkeep of indigent children in her community and beyond.
At the recent launching of the non-governmental organisation, which coincided with her birthday, she also donated a borehole as a way of showing appreciation to her people for their support over the years.
She said: " Birthdays are special days to thank God and reflect on one's life. So, for me, it is not only about merrymaking but should also be about giving back to the community. I, in all sincerity is thanking Almighty God for the gift of life and His blessings over me, and also everyone that supported me in one way or the other in actualising this dream. More are still coming."
Dignitaries who graced the occasion include Hon Jimoh Ajao, the Asiwaju of Igando-Ikotun; Hon Morenike Adesina Williams, Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA; His Royal Majesty Oba Gbadabiu Azeez Asiwaju, Onikotun of Ikotun, amongst others.
