While speaking at the event, Akinsanya said his decision to embark on the empowerment was borne out of the current hardship being faced by the people, stressing that “there is no better time to reach out to the people than now because the hardship is real.

“The decision was also informed by the fact that the people freely entrusted me with their mandate to serve them as the council Chairman, so when they are in need, it is morally binding on me to reach out to them, and that is exactly what I am doing today (Friday).9110

“I will continue to attract empowerment programmes to compliment the transformative agenda of our Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is doing his best to take Lagos State to an enviable height.”

He added that though the present hardship in the country was informed by the inability of past administrations to put in place democratic foundations that would address the yearnings of Nigerians, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was leaving no stone unturned to bring a lasting solution to the challenges faced by Nigerians.

Beneficiaries at the occasion commended the council Chairman for identifying with the people while describing him as a true leader of the people.
