Ruger opens up on why he left D Prince's record label

Ruger, who rose to fame with the song "Bounce" and signed a record deal in 2021 with Jonzing World, left the label in 2024 to start his imprint, Blown Boy Entertainment.

NIGERIAN singer, Michael Adebayo Olayinka, popularly known as Ruger has opened up on why he left D Prince's record label, Jonzing World to start his own “Blown Boy Entertainment.”

Ruger, who rose to fame with the song "Bounce" and signed a record deal in 2021 with Jonzing World, left the label in 2024 to start his imprint, Blown Boy Entertainment.

According to the “Asiwaju” crooner, he had to leave the record label because he felt that the label was satisfied with the money he was bringing in and could not push him further than he wanted.

“As much as I’m very appreciative of the fact that Jonzing World introduced me to the world, I just couldn’t continue with them because they got too comfortable with the money they were making from me and couldn’t push me further as I wanted to be pushed,” he said.

“I Was supposed to renegotiate the contract but I couldn’t imagine 5 years more without action Dey use my money Dey fund new artist, leaving me in the dark, not being transparent. I just laugh. How e be now?

The artist concluded by noting that there were some other things he wouldn't be able to say for the safety of himself and his life.
