VETERAN actor and filmmaker, Ugezu Ugezu has taken to social media to give his genuine opinion on the incident of DNA test being done in Africa.

There has been an increasing rate of reports that DNA tests conducted on children could not prove true paternity and has revealed a lot of paternity fraud cases.

The movie producer quoted a reference from popular writer Chinua Achebe's book, Things Fall Apart, saying that a DNA test is not an African thing.

"This DNA thing is not really an African thing. A child born to an African man is the African man’s child. Our fathers held this belief and enjoyed peace of mind. This DNA stuff is tearing many homes apart and destroying many innocent children. In Things Fall Apart Mother Earth rose against Okonkwo for killing the child who called him father. THINK!" He wrote on Instagram.

Ugezu Ugezu is a respected member of the movie industry; he's won and has been nominated for various awards which include Best Movie Director in Nigeria at the Africa Movie Academy Awards,  Most Promising Actor in Nigeria at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, and Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
