POPULAR Nigerian hip-hop star and actor, Mr Bankole Wellington (Banky W), has won the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representative Primaries for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency.
A statement revealed by Kennedy Salami, an aide to the star stated that Banky W had a landslide victory polling 28 out of 31 votes cast by delegates at the primary.
Salami said, “We have just concluded the elections and he has won. We secured the ticket for the House Representatives of Eti-Osa PDP. So, we are moving on to the next. It was a landslide; we won 28 to 3 votes.”
Banky W, on his part, said; “I am overwhelmed by the support of my constituency, the people, the ward chairmen, the leaders and the chieftains of the party.
“I feel the support even from the grassroots, honestly, I can’t be happier than I am now.
“The real work begins now, the primaries are just the start and thankfully, we have the grace of God with us; we move.”
