The 2023 Headies, which took place on Sunday, had its ups and downs, as a major unfortunate incident was that the show was brought to an end with about 13 categories, including Best Female Artiste, yet to be presented.

The organisers of the award went on to announce the winners of the 13 categories through their social media pages.

This didn’t sit well with Ayra Starr, who was announced the best female artist, as she took to her X page to pour out her mind.

Ayra Starr wrote: “I will never be grateful for winning a category that wasn’t even deemed fit to be announced on stage. Best female artist na beans? We work hard, every single one of us!

“I’ve seen Tiwa record four hit songs in the same night. Tems breathes and lives for music. We didn’t deserve such nonchalance! Nigeria, you didn’t raise me to settle for less.”
