AS part of its Street to Stardom series, Okun Alimosho, a non-profit organisation domiciled in Alimosho under the aegis of the AfroVanguard, on Friday, May 19, 2023, visited the Sasa Community Senior High School, Shasha, in the Egbeda-Akowonjo LCDA of the Alimosho LGA to empower the community students with needed sustainable skills for a brighter and more rewarding future.
The Street to Stardom initiative, spearheaded by Okun Alimosho, aims to empower children in public schools within Alimosho by equipping them with sustainable skills for a brighter and more rewarding future.
During the outreach at the Sasa Community Senior High School, Shasha, Miss Anuoluwapo Ogunbanjo, a Partner on the Street to Stardom project, spoke to the student on the importance of mentorship, stating how she got better after 19 years of low academic performance, which was occasioned by family challenges and sexual abuse at a young age, adding that it was a mentor who took her up and made her useful to herself and community today.
Mr Ujagbe Onofua, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Afrovanguard, also enlightened the students about the upcoming one-on-one mentorship session with students and the upcoming free skill acquisition programme (music, art and tech) to be organised by the organisation during the summer holiday.
As the visit came to an end, the impact of Okun Alimosho's visit was undeniable. The students were left with a newfound belief in their potential and a determination to chase their dreams fearlessly.
