SMALL business owners in Alimosho, on Monday, August 23, 2021, shared their expectations from the newly elected local government Chairmen while speaking to AlimoshoToday.com reporter at the marketplace.

In Egbeda, the traders the Alimosho today reporter engaged were quick to say that they will be happy if the re-elected Alimosho Council boss will help them tame the local government 'boys' who come every time to exploit them.

"We don't even know if truly they work for the local government", says Mrs Bakare, a second--hand clothes seller.

"This one will come, another one will come in the afternoon. We can't challenge them. One of them even took my ware away one day and said his unborn baby will wear it on the naming ceremony, imagine", she said, adding jokingly that if Lagos wahala is too much, she will go back to her village.

Alhaja Seki, a pepper seller, was on the same page with Bakare. "We are the ones facing the hardships. These men from Local Government don't care they just come and take and go (translated)".

Felicia, who sells used bags and shoes also said, "We know we will pay levy. But they need to treat us like human beings. Some of them are rude. They will do their own wahala finish, and after will go and  inform KAI that we are here.

Asked what they want the government to do, Felicia, the most vocal said, "We want the Chairman to help us warn them. Their wahala too much for dis market. Please, help us tell them say hen dey sweat for bodi, na in feather no make man Sabi o".

Effort by our reporter to make the traders take a photo was unsuccessful. The traders seeing his intention fled alarmingly.

We suspect the fear instill in these traders by their 'bullies' must have preempted that, or they were suspicious our reporter is a machinery of the local government.
