THE Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has confirmed that another container has fallen around the Dopemu bridge barely 24 hours after a container-laden truck crushed the occupants of a commercial bus in the Ojuelegba area of Lagos State on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

According to the report of the traffic agency, the fallen 40 feet container occupied about 90% of the road.

LASTMA said, “A 40ft container laden truck fell at Sawmill inward Dopemu under the bridge, it’s occupying 90 per cent of road. Our men are on the ground doing the needful as effort is on for recovery.”

Meanwhile, a Twitter user claimed that a video of the incident was recorded by his sister who was on her way to her place of work in the early hours of Monday, January 30, 2023.

He said, “January 30, 2023. My sister, on her way to the office before Tower company going to Iyana Ipaja.”

You would recall that on Sunday, January 29, 2023, tragedy struck at Ojuelegba in the Surulere Local Government Area when a container-laden truck fell on a commercial minibus, popularly called “Korope”, killing seven occupants in the process.

Fortunately, a passenger, an adult female, was rescued alive and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to the witness, the accident which happened about 12 noon, at Ojuelegba, inward Fadeyi, led to traffic gridlock along the axis as emergency responders battled to put the situation under control.
