THE Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon Jelili Sulaimon, has affirmed that the performance of his administration in his first tenure should spur the corporate organisations and business concerns within Alimosho to pay their rates without any force by the Local Government authority.

He said this during the aggressive  revenue drive the Council embarked upon today. The exercise which was led by the Council boss took the team to corporate organisations across the Alimosho community.

The Chairman in the company of his Vice Chairman, management  staff, revenue collectors and other stakeholders harped on the need for rate payers to pay the actual amount on their bills to the designated banks shown on the bills.

"If you pay in cash to anybody, it could  lead  to stories. As a result, you are advised to pay directly into our various accounts as written  on the bill and present your teller for the Council's receipts" the Council boss said.

He added that rate payment has been made easy in Alimosho. "We have constructed new   roads , maintained the existing ones, constructed culverts, primary healthcare centres, and schools. We have also empowered  the youths, widows, aged, maintain our markets, cleared the drainages , maintained peace and security among other things and we are willing to do more.

"It is constitutional to collect radio and television rates from corporate organisations and households; also, corporate parking and business permits"

He assured Alimosho businesses that the Council officials have been trained to be courteous in their approach with the general public. "We know the business environment is hostile that is why the bills are moderate so that corporate organisations and the people can pay easily.

He concluded that his will to make life easy for Alimosho residents is relentless. Therefore, developmental projects will soon kick-off in areas yet to be touched. ""However, it will be difficult to do all these if rates and taxes are not paid", he said.
