"Our banks treat customers like goats", angry customer

CUSTOMERS of one of the top Nigerian banks expressed their bitterness over the unfair treatment banks mete to their customers.

At the said bank, the customers were not allowed into the premises and in tens, the customers stood in the sun waiting to be allowed in. The customers allowed in were sighted seated in the sun.

Speaking to one Mr Akinde who, according to him, has been standing for the past an hour, he was quick to the AlimoshoToday reporter back memory lane, "I can't understand this country. The same problems since I was young are still the same problems we are still facing. Then, when NEPA brought light, we children will shout 'up NEPA', today I am in my mid-forties and we have not been able to solve the electricity problem in the country.

"To add salt to injury, our banks treat us like goats. How can a bank hide under Covid-19 to treat human beings like this? They say it is because of Covid-19. How can you treat people in this manner? We can't continue like this in this country. Something must be done", he said.

An elderly woman, Mrs Fadare, who could not bear the situation and was leaving also spoke to our reporter. "The security man gave me a small paper and said I am number 89. It is the way they do give you everywhere. If I have a two-month-old grandchild and the mother in the car and I am number 89, when will I leave this place? May God help our country and the way the system is. This is one among many situations my generation endured. My fear is the future of these little ones', she said.
