A 35-year-old motorcycle rider, Olasunkanmi Oladimeji, on Friday, February 3, 2023, appeared before the Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager in the Egbeda-Akowonjo LCDA of Alimosho LGA.

According to media reports, the defendant, who resides at No.33 Godilove Street in the Egbeda-Akowonjo LCDA of Alimosho LGA was charged with sexual assault, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 27, 2022, at 32, Akinwowo Street, Egbeda, adding that the defendant was well-known by the 16-year-old victim and her family.

He said that the defendant came to the teenager’s residence to collect a movie disc and took advantage of her because she was the only one at home. He said that the defendant forcefully kissed her, pushed her to a couch, and tried to pull down her skirt and underwear.

“While trying to force his way into the girl, her elder sister came in and she raised an alarm,” he narrated to the court.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of #500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Osunsanmi then adjourned the case until March 15, 2023, to enable the State Director of public prosecutions to give advice on the case.
