NIGERIA @62: “Assured future is at hand.”- Jelili

THE Executive Chairman of Alimosho LGA, Hon. Jelili Adewale Sulaimon has congratulated Nigerians and the Federal Government on the celebration of the country's 62 years Independence Day anniversary.

The council Mayor in his Independence Day message on Saturday, October 1, 2022, said; “Dear Alimosho residents, happy Independence Day!

“On behalf of the Government of Alimosho, I wish you all a happy Independence Day. I know that many don't seem happy at this time; our Nation has passed through and still passing through a lot.

“Alimosho is not also resting on its oars; we have supported the security agencies in Alimosho with vehicles to enhance their movement around the local government while discharging their responsibilities. We shall do more.

“The economy is another great challenge; many are finding it difficult to feed. I can assure you that the situation is not also good out there. Many of the great countries overseas are also experiencing poor economic growth. This isn't an excuse but a fact.

"Yet, it doesn't imply that we can't run our country better. I have personally taken conditional financial empowerment for my people as a priority. I started some months back giving out #10,000 to not less than 200 Alimosho residents each, every month. This will not stop any soon. We shall continue to do more for our people. This may not totally alleviate the suffering but it will move us up the ladder.

“Environmental challenges are on the rise; we can't afford to be spending the money we should have used to eat on health and flood control simply because of our carelessness. Refuse is not meant to be dropped in the drainages. Drainage is meant for water passage.

“Keep your drainage clean to save yourself and your family from diseases and flooding. We are working on some roads with bad drainages.

“Presently, Miccom Street is receiving our attention. When we are done, we shall move to another area. And that is how we shall continue all through my administration.

“In addition, the health centre under construction at the Ologufe area of Shasha is almost complete for use. My interest in the well-being of my people is very high. So, expect more of this.

“So far, we have ensured the presence of health centres in four of seven wards in our Local Government. We shall put adequate facilities in these resources. It's our responsibility and we shall keep it up.

“Vote wisely and give our Nation a renewed opportunity to rise again just as Lagos is rising!”

“Happy Independence Day, once again.”
