THE Executive Chairman of Alimosho LGA, Hon. Jelili Adewale Sulaimon has joined others across Nigeria to celebrate Nigerian youth, especially Alimosho youth, in commemoration of the year 2022 National youth day.
The council Boss in his felicitation message today Tuesday, November 01, 2022, said; “To the youth; some days back, I was at an occasion where I met a longtime friend on the path of progress. What brought us together as friends isn't money or business or politics, our friendship was purely because of our common struggle which is community development.
“When I was younger and before I became a Councillor, I was an active community development person. Realising the structural deficit in my community and understanding that the government is overwhelmed, I alongside other youth in my neighbourhood came together to address some of the challenges in my community.
“For me, it is the way to go, because, with our efforts back then, tremendous improvement was registered in the lives of our people.
“This is what youth should stand for; not hooliganism and drug addiction. This adds nothing to our community, rather, it destroys it.
“Some other youths are on social media talking only. And because they have disconnected themselves from their immediate society, they end up goofing, by promotion, what they would have condemned if they are aware of their community.
“As we celebrate National Youth Day, today November 1, 2022, my advice to all Nigerian youth is to relate with their community, develop their community, and promote only things that will better their lives and that of their community.
“I can say boldly that my contributions to my community formed an important part of the reason why I was given the opportunity to lead in my first term as a Councillor.
“Build your community and your community will build you. Happy National Youth Day to all Alimosho Youth.”
