ONISHASHA of Shasha in the Egbeda-Akowonjo LCDA of Alimosho LGA, Oba Nosiru Ogunronbi, on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, urged the youth not to allow politicians use them as thugs during and after next year’s general elections.

The monarch spoke in his palace in Shasha during a security meeting with his chiefs and other stakeholders.

He urged Alimosho residents not to view elections as a do-or-die affair,  adding that peaceful coexistence during and after elections should be their priority.

Ogunronbi praised the Governing Advisory Council of the  Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) party for recognising Awori sons and daughters as candidates for next year’s election, describing the gesture as an inclusive administration.

He described the inclusion of a former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Princess Orelope Adefulure as APC GAC member as “a welcome development,”  noting that it brought unity and harmony back to the party in Alimosho.

The monarch explained that in the history of Lagos politics, the Awori had never benefited better than what it was enjoying from the party.

“It is a thing of joy for the Aworis to have Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi as chairman in Lagos, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule as APC candidate for Lagos West, Ayuba Ganiyu (Mayor KK) as candidate for House of Representatives, and Lukmon Orelope as candidate for Alimosho State Constituency 01. All candidates are sons of the soil,” he said.

Oba Ogunronbi appealed to the Aworis to vote for APC candidates, saying, "This will be a stepping stone for Aworis to venture into politics because it is what we have been clamouring for in Lagos State.”
