Speaking at the event, the council Boss emphasised that the cash transfer initiative is an extension of the Federal Government and the State Government conditional cash transfer, adding that while both Governments gave N25,000 to selected people in the State and the country at large, the Local Government could only afford N10,000 per resident but will ensure that a good number of the residents gets the money.

The money was shared with about 2000 CDA members and another 1000 other community stakeholders, which include People Living with Disabilities, PLWD, the Market Association, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, the Youth Council, and the League of Imams and Alfas, among others.8957

While some were given in cash, others had the money transferred to their account at the venue of the programme.

Note that this cash distribution is the fourth palliative distribution in the LGA in the last six months.
