Jelili empowers about 500 Alimosho residents with cash palliatives

ABOUT 500 residents of the Alimosho LGA have benefitted from the cash palliatives of the LGA, following the efforts of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon, to alleviate their sufferings during this challenging period in the country.

In a programme tagged Alimosho Local Government Cash Palliative held yesterday, February 22, 2024, at the Local Government Secretariat, Akowonjo, the council Chairman affirmed that without an iota of doubt, people are passing through a lot during this challenging period, but it is for the best.

He added that the main reason for voting for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the first place is because of the way he turned Lagos State around for the best, which “we want him to do same for our dear Nation.”8742

He continued, "The price hike being experienced today is expected because the businessmen who benefit from the way our Nation was being poorly managed, won't just look away. Rather, they will fight back like they are doing right now.”

He concluded by urging the people to keep their trust in God and the President because “in the end, we shall be pleased with him. There is light at the end of the tunnel."8741

According to the council Boss, palliatives distribution started last year, where rice, beans, garri, dry meat, fish, and others are put together. But for this edition, the Government felt giving out cash would be more beneficial.

The beneficiaries, who are residents and a part of the CDA/CDC, the League of Imams & Alfas, the Christian Association of Nigeria, People Living with Disabilities, and market men & women, among others received N10000 each to cushion the negative effects of the present economic challenges.
