THE 9th assembly of Alimosho local government's house was duly inaugurated and declared open for business today by the Executive chairman, Alimosho local government, Hon Jelili Sulaimon, after the swearing-in ceremony, yesterday.
It will be recalled that the councilors across the seven wards in the local government were duly pronounced elected by LASIEC at the end of the local government election held across Lagos State on Saturday, 24th 2021 after scoring the highest number of vote.
The elected councilors were consequently issued certificate of return on Tuesday, 27th July 2021 at the LASIEC office, Yaba.
At the end of the swearing ceremony, nominations were made for the four positions in the assembly. This nominations were seconded and without a counter nomination, all positions were filled as nominated. The positions and the holders are:
Hon Ahmed Obadina (Ward G) - Leader of the House
Hon Mojisola Ayeni (Ward D) - Deputy Leader of the House
Hon Omobolaji Yusuf (Ward A) - Majority Leader
Hon Saheed Adegoke (Ward C) - Chief Whip
Other members of the assembly are
Hon Samuel Fadeyi (Ward B)
Hon Semiu Rasheed (Ward E)
Hon Elizabeth Fashina (Ward F)
In his acceptance speech, the leader of the house, Hon Ahmed Obadina, stated his readiness to work with the council Executives in order to move the local government forward.
The ceremony was graced by the party leaders led by the LGA Chairman, Jelili Sulaimon, the Council Manager, Hon Tosin Fatoki, and other governmental and non-governmental dignitaries.
