Hon Jelili Sulaimon, Chairman of Alimosho LGA has sent some words of encouragement to teachers in Alimosho as teachers all over the world celebrate World Teachers' Day today.
The Council mayor sent his inspiring words through an official statement on social media.
Jelili said, "In the words of John Dewey, "Education is not preparation for life, Education is life". Therefore, if living a good life is important to you, then education will be seen as something of very high relevance.
"In the same way, if education is germane, then the givers of education (teachers) mustn't be handled with levity because they are consequently the givers of life. If not for the teachers, all other cherished and envied professions that make life wouldn't be in existence.
"To the teachers, no matter how well or less you are rewarded, the eternal reward is much bigger. This eternal reward could either be received directly by you or your generations, even after you have gone.
"In whichever way, the reward is always intact. No wonder the wise teacher said, ''When a person dies, his deeds are cut off except for three: continuing, charity and knowledge that others benefited from, and a righteous son who supplicates him.
"Indeed, your reward is intact!"
He concluded saying, "Happy World Teachers Day to the entire teachers in Alimosho and beyond".
