IN preparation for the 2022 National Population Census, Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) is expected to commence in Alimosho Local Government Area on Monday, 4th October 2021.

EAD, according to the National Population Commission is the preliminary activity that usually precedes the Population and Housing census.

In order to ensure a smooth EAD, Hon Jelili Sulaimon had earlier held an emergency meeting with all stakeholders in the LGA.

The meeting, according to the Council Mayor, was necessary to sensitize the residents of the need to give the enumerators maximum cooperation and to ensure that they carry out the activities to reflect the true position of the local government area.

The meeting, which included the party chairman Hon Tosin Fatoki, the Community Development Committee (CDC), the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Alimosho Local Branch, the religious leaders, the market leaders, among others, was used to discuss the modus operandi for the enumeration process. This will also get the residents aware that they will be receiving visitors so that they can make preparations for their coming.

The Council Chairman consequently encouraged the stakeholders to go back home and relate all that was discussed to the residents.

Pre-census begins today, Monday, 4th October 2021 and it will last for about 35 days. "Encourage my people to cooperate with the enumerators and ensure that they didn't short-change themselves" Sulaimon implored the stakeholders during the meeting.
