Following a perceived disobedience of the currently imposed 24-hour curfew by the Lagos State Government, AlimoshoToday spoke with a man around 5:45 pm, who expressed satisfaction over the curfew because he could finally join the #EndSARS protest.

The man, an Egbeda resident who was in company with a friend, told AlimoshoToday: "I really love what the youths are doing and we are going to die here until the government hearkens to all our demands. I really wanted to participate in the #EndSARS protest and Soro Soke (speak up) but my work didn't permit that. But now, I am going to participate in the protest. I am heading towards Egbeda now to see what is going on."

On the streets that AlimoshoToday checked out, sellers of essential items like foodstuff, mini stores and pharmacies were still in their various shops but fewer wares were displayed. Some barber shops and salons were still open at the time of filing this report.

The major roads had fewer cars, buses and less people were seen. However, streets were flooded with people and commercial motorcyclists were still fully operational.

Meanwhile, the main gate of Ponle Street was padlocked and only the pedestrian gate was opened.

There were also clusters of men on the streets drinking and enjoying. In one of the clusters AlimoshoToday approached, they were chanting "ENDSARS", "SORO SOKE", "WE DIE HERE", "WE GATHER DEY", "NOTHING DEY HAPPEN" and "END POLICE BRUTALITY".

Many people also gathered at Egbeda Bus-Stop and police officers who wanted to pass through were denied access until they shot into the air. After this act, a few people started leaving the scene but others stayed back.
