Churches comply with Covid-19 reopening regulations in Egbeda-Akowonjo

On Sunday, the churches visited within Egbeda-Akowonjo complied with the government’s Covid-19 measures and conditions for the safe reopening of churches.

CHURCHES within Egbeda-Akowonjo complied with the state government’s Covid-19 measures and conditions for their safe reopening on Sunday.

Recall that on Saturday, August 1, 2020, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had issued a press statement that specified conditions to be met for worship centres that are planning to open.

The churches visited on Sunday, Redeemed Christian Church of Nigeria, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and Holy Spirit Mission along Shasha Road, strictly followed the conditions stipulated by the state government.

A church member identified as Samuel told AlimoshoToday: “I am glad to be back in church after the four months spent at home. These measures taken by the church even confirm it that the church is definitely safe for all.”

Another worshipper named Nneka distastefully remarked, “Churches should have reopened since. These safety precautions should just have been put in place.

“Schools, markets, offices and other places have opened but the house of God has been shut. When we learn to put God first in everything that we do, things will change.”
