AS part of the yearly Lagos State Tree Planting Day the Executive Chairman of Alimosho LGA, Hon. Jelili Adewale Sulaimon has called for the planting of more trees in the council area to preserve nature in the area.

While addressing the audience at the year 2022 tree planting program tagged ‘In Harmony with Nature’ held at the Alimosho Local Government secretariat, Akowonjo, on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 10 am, Hon. Jelili said "It is expedient to continue planting trees considering its many benefits.

"The health benefits of planting trees are immeasurable. Trees help in cleansing the air, as well as, keeping the environment cool.”

He also used the opportunity to state the need for everyone present at the event to get their Permanent Voters' Card (PVCs) that will enable them to vote in 2023. "Your PVC is your power," he said.

The year 2022 tree planting program was also witnessed by other government stakeholders including the Executive Vice-Chairman, Hon. Akinpelu Johnson, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Dare Ogunkoya, the Leader of Alimosho Local Government House, Hon. Ahmed Obadina, and the Council-Manager Mr Victor Alivide. 

Others include High Chief Akibu Adebowale, the Chairman of Baales-in-Council in Alimosho LGA, the Supervisors & SAs, the Councillors, SSAs and other staff of the Local Government.
