AS the West African Senior School Examination, WASSCE 2020, enters the second week, students in Alimosho Local Government Area (LGA) have expressed confidence as they wrote their English Language paper yesterday, AlimoshoToday can report.
Students of some schools in the Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area, (LCDA), making reference to the online teaching sessions made available through WhatsApp, Wazobai Radio, TV and YouTube, which were supervised by the Tutor General / Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Education District I, Barrister Solarin Magaret Titilayo, have expressed confidence in their performances so far.
AlimoshoToday learnt from sources that the idea developed by Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Commissioner for Education, Mrs Adefisayo Folashade, has been very fantastic for the preparation for the ongoing WASSCE.
The online classes, the sources said, really helped the students a great deal so much so that the gap of relaxation by the examinees during the lockdown was tightly closed up.
Barrister Solarin also ensured that schools in the district adhered strictly to COVID-19 protocols.

Moses, a student of Ikotun Senior High School, interacting with AlimoshoToday outside the school premises, just after sitting for the English paper, said: "The exams have really been going on well. At least on the Mathematics day, I was able to confidently answer eight questions out of 10 in the theory part. The school really tried for us during the lockdown. They were teaching us on WhatsApp. Today's paper was okay, too. Everything I read came out."
Another student, Adebayo Kolapo, said: "The letter writing is sure for me. Yes, I attended online classes. I was not regular because I was using someone's phone. And I have Goodbye to Failure in English. I read it and I'm confident of my performance."
Two students from Community Senior School Grammar School, Ikotun said they are sure of success because the school did not allow them to rest during the lockdown. They were also working on assignments and they were determined. " We are expecting good grades because we've been preparing, " they said.
At Olorunfunmi Senior Grammar School, students said they are grateful to their school and the government. They said if not for the online classes, two weeks would not have been enough to prepare for their exams. "We really thank God. We are expecting good grades," they enthused.
