The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspects for allegedly terrorising and dispossessing unsuspecting members of the public of their valuables in Idimu, a suburb of Alimosho local government.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement on Sunday that arms and ammunition were recovered from the suspects, adding that some of the suspects were arrested during a stop-and-search routine.

He stated: “In furtherance of the investigation into the case of one Peter Arinola, aka Blood, who was arrested with an English pistol at the Empire area of Surulere recently while threatening and harassing a commercial sex worker, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested additional two suspected armed robbers in connection with the case as arms and ammunition were recovered from them.

“The suspects were arrested by police operatives attached to the Idimu Division based on enhanced intelligence by the Surulere and Idimu divisions with a view to apprehending the suspects, who are still suspected to have some arms in their possession.

“The suspects, Sheriff Shonibare, aka Stainless, and Quadri Ayonuga, aka Sugar, were arrested in Idimu during a stop-and-search on February 23, 2021, as a follow-up to the intelligence. They are assisting the police in their investigation as many revelations are being made.”
