THE Mayor of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo (KSO), on Monday, October 23, 2023, empowered some residents of the council area with N50,000 each as palliative through the Department of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA).
Addressing the gathering, KSO averred that this is in continuation of the earlier distribution of foodstuffs given to residents last month, where he promised to continue to give succour at intervals to mitigate the effects of the subsidy removal. 
“As a progressive party, whose cardinal objectives include poverty alleviation, we have been regularly giving social welfare packages to our indigent people, including regular monthly financial assistance to community members,” he noted.
He reiterated his immense passion to alleviate poverty among residents of EILCDA, to continue empowering its citizenry and to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal.
He then appealed to the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money and shun any frivolities.
The event had in attendance the Vice-Chairman, Leader of the Council, Executive Council Members, and the management team.
