THE Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Alimosho Constituency II, Hon. Kehinde Olaide Joseph, on Thursday, December 7, 2023, attended the official commissioning and unveiling of the new ultra-modern edifice built for the Nigerian Police Station, Area M Command in the Egbe-Idimu LCDA of Alimosho LGA.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Public Account (State) applauded the relentless efforts of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in making Lagos State and its environs safe and protected.
In his words: "I feel elated today (yesterday), December 7, 2023, to attend the commissioning of the ultra-modern edifice of the Nigeria Police Station (Area 'M' Command), Egbe-Idimu.
"It is no news that our dear nation is facing security challenges, and this boiled down to the grassroots, hence, this laudable achievement. The establishment of this Police Station is to combat crime in the area, thereby, protecting lives and properties.
"While the Government continues with efforts of this nature to restore peace and security, I want to appeal to all of us to play our role in lowering the noticeable tension in the nation as a result of the security challenges. It is high time we embrace community policing and clamour for the establishment of the State Police.
"There are bad eggs in the police and, of course, the good ones. Let's cooperate with them for the security of lives and properties. The police are not here to create disorder; they are here to preserve order."
Other dignitaries present at the event include the Executive Chairman of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, representative of the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and other important dignitaries.
