THE Health unit of the Egbe-Idimu LCDA has shared some health benefits of Ginger, adding that it aids digestion, reduces nausea, and helps fight chronic constipation. 

An online report made available for publication on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Health, Hon. Olubunmi A. reads; “Ginger has a very long history of use in various forms of traditional and alternative medicine.

“It's been used to aid digestion, reduce nausea, and help fight chronic constipation. 

“Garlic and ginger are loaded with antioxidants compounds that prevent stress and damage to the body's DNA. They may help the body fight off chronic infections. It is a good source of antioxidants, but it does not provide many vitamins, minerals, or calories. 

“Ginger can reduce pain and can heal irritated skin. It may also help protect against cancer and can help you look younger.  

“Ginger can also calm the stomach; ease menstrual cramps, and contribute to weight loss. Improves immunity and alleviates PMS symptoms.”
