THE Health unit of the Egbe-Idimu LCDA has shared some health benefits of the corn silk, adding that it is healthy for consumption as it supports the body’s immune system.
An online report made available for publication by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Health, Hon. Olubunmi A. reads; “That cream-coloured hair at the tip of corn is called corn silk.
“It cures bladder infection, cures kidney stones, reduces obesity, prevents diabetes, inflammation of the urinary systems, and prostrates, and also reduces the risk of heart failure and heart attack.
“To use the corn silk, boil it for 30 minutes, allow it to cool down, sieve, and then drink it.
“Good health is beautiful. Health is wealth!”
