THE Executive Chairman of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, has cautioned the residents of the LCDA, especially the youth, to desist from firing fireworks, popularly referred to as banger, during the Yuletide celebrations.

In a radio jingle sponsored by the mayor recently, he admonished the residents to shun the use of fireworks during this period, due to the negative economic effects its explosion might have on the community.

He also mentioned that law enforcement officers have been charged to arrest anyone caught in possession of any type of fireworks in and around the Egbe-Idimu LCDA.

Hon. Sanyaolu has also admonished all CDAs, CDCs, parents, and guardians in the LCDA to keep a watchful eye on their wards and discourage them from either buying or selling fireworks during this season.

He reiterated that anybody caught in possession of fireworks will be duly punished by law.
