Commuters frustrated as broken-down PSP causes traffic along Egbeda-Idimu road

IT was an evening of sighing and groaning for commuters who plied the Egbeda-Idimu road on Friday, April 14, 2023, as a broken-down PSP truck stalled movement at the Pako bus stop inwards Isheri roundabout.

The traffic, which started during the evening rush hours, led to a slight increase in transportation fares, even as passengers had to struggle to get on buses that were not enough to convey them to their various destinations.

The traffic buildup, which started from the Moshalashi bus stop, saw drivers diverting to follow alternative routes in Egbeda. Regardless, there was no respite, as wherever roads linked to the main express was still blocked.

Alimoshotoday's correspondent, who was at the scene, reports that the PSP truck broke down just in the middle of the road at the Pipeline/Pako bus stop. Due to this, at least three other trucks and one tanker further worsened the traffic as there was no space for them to pass.

With this tight situation, the road became too narrow for the huge vehicular traffic experienced along that route that spanned even as far as the Powerline bus stop.

As of the time our reporter left the area, a team of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) were on the ground to tow the vehicle and restore seamless vehicular movement.
