THE message of unity, peace and oneness was the dominated discourse at the 3rd year anniversary celebration of Sarki Bello Musa of Idimu Land, Alimosho local government, Lagos state.
The occasion, though an anniversary, symbolized a fora where Nigeria’s teething problems were extensively discussed, side by side with pop and regale of the main event.
Present in full regalia at the event were Sarkis from across the great Alimosho local government under the auspices of the Chieftaincy Council of Arewa Community of Alimosho local government, led by the chairman and Sarki overall of Alimosho, HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja.
In attendance also were delegations of the Idimu Land Obaship, led by the Baale Paiko, High Chief Waidi Ewenla, the Odua People’s Congress, led by the National Coordinator, Comrade Odunayo and Alhaji Ado Shuaibu Dansudu, the National President, Arewa United Consultative Forum, among others.
All the stakeholders present concurred that bad elements amongst Nigerians were responsible for the tensions in the country all for their selfish interest and never for the benefit of the greater number of Nigerians; they consequently enjoined attendees present to jealously guard our oneness by disregarding false alarms and disguised triggers for anarchy.
Contributing to the discourse, the celebrant Sarki Bello Musa of Idimu Land, specially thanked the Idimu Chieftaincy Council and the community for entrusting him with the mandate to lead the northern community residents. He further thanked them for their support and peaceful disposition toward non-indigenes, which has ensured enduring peace in the land of Idimu.
Sarki Bello Musa assured of his unfailing readiness to promote enhanced peace even as he unequivocally warned northerners especially the youths from involving themselves in untoward practices that could jeopardize peace and development in Idimu Land.
Cultural peculiarities were fully on display to the amazement of guests who largely commended the efforts of the assembly of Sarkis toward promoting peace and security across Alimosho local government and Lagos by extension.
Bring the event to an end, Alhaji Kuraja, on behalf of the Council, thanked everyone that contributed in one way or another to the actualization of the event; he, in the end, wished everybody safe arrival back to individual destinations.
