Lagos State Government has commended the Joint Action Committee of Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions (NASU), Lagos State University Chapter for the decision to suspend its strike action on Thursday, 25th of February, 2021.

Recall that NASU and SSANU under the aegis of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) had embarked on a nationwide strike on February 5, to compel the Federal Government to address their demands.

NAN reports that NASU and SSANU, LASU Chapter, also demanded payment of their members’ earned allowances and rightful position.

The two unions had shut the university’s main gate and the senate building during the indefinite strike, which affected the first-semester examination of the institution.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the honour and has restated his administration’s commitment to an amicable resolution of all issues as quickly as possible, just as he looks forward to a continued industrial harmony in our flagship tertiary Institution.
