Lagos govt asks JSS 3 students to resume Monday

The Lagos State Government has directed Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3 students who are registered for National Examination Council (NECO) Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to resume on Monday.

The Lagos State government has said the Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3  students, who registered for National Examination Council (NECO) Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), are to resume on Monday.

Recall that the state had earlier said that only the SS3 and Technical Studies (TEC3) Students were to resume on August 3, to enable them to prepare for the forthcoming West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) which is scheduled to start August 17.

According to the Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folashade Adefisayo, only students who are registered for NEC, BECE, which is scheduled to start August 24 are to resume.

However, she said other JSS 3 students who are to write BECE organized by the Lagos State Examinations Board would be informed of the scheduled dates of their examination.

The commissioner also said that administrators of both public and private schools are expected to ensure full compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines for schools re-opening in their respective schools.

She also stressed that the government's officials will be on ground to monitor the level of compliance in all schools across the State
