VETERAN artist, Sound Sultan, was laid to rest yesterday, Sunday, after his death on the same day according to Islamic injunctions.
Sound Sultan, whose real name is Olarenwaju Fasasi, died after a long-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, which is a group of related cancers that affect the lymphatic system.
He was laid to rest at the Marlboro Muslim cemetery in New Jersey on Sunday, in the presence of his wife and close family member and friends.
Sound Sultan is survived by his wife, Farida and his three children. He was 44 years old.
