NIGERIA singer, Femi Kuti, is celebrating is father Fela Kuti on is posthumous birthday.
The instrumentalist who was born on the 15th of October 1938 died on the 2nd of August 1997 aged 58.
Olikoye Ransome-Kuti had claimed that his brother Fela died of AIDS-related complications on August 2, 1997, in Lagos. However, Fela’s widow maintained that he did not die of the deadly disease.
His son, Femi, who is also a musical artist took to Instagram to celebrate the Afrobeat legend. He wrote "HPBD to our father FELA.
"Wow 24 years gone and we still miss you so much. We love you”
Femi Kuti is not the only son of his father to be into music as his younger brother, Seun Kuti, also followed in his father footsteps.
